When you win an argument, do you really win anything?

In the heat of a conflict, we all want to be right. But let’s face it—winning an argument can mean losing a relationship.

So, how do we control what we say when we’re tempted to say things we may later regret?

James, the brother of Jesus, would tell us to be quick to listen and slow to speak.

Both parties want to be heard. And more than that, both parties want to be understood.

So, get curious. Don’t settle for being right. Make things right.

And start by listening. Make it the first thing you do. Because, let’s be honest, that’s exactly what we want other people to do for us.
