People who were nothing like Jesus, liked Jesus. And he liked them back.
Every community should have a church just like that.
If you’re looking for a welcoming church in your area, here are some things to think through as you explore churches:
- Does it make you feel welcome through every interaction?
- Does it allow you to feel comfortable being you—just as you are?
- Does it present the Bible in a way that makes sense and can be applied in your daily life?
- Does it encourage you to grow in your own personal relationship with Jesus?
- Does it help you easily connect with a smaller group of people and grow with them spiritually?
- Does it reflect and prioritize their local community as they partner in the struggles, opportunities, and objectives of the local area?
Finding the right church community that feels like home and helps your spiritual growth flourish may take time and several attempts.
However, it’s worth it in this stage of your journey to persistently and patiently explore the options near you until you find your place.
